Abstract

Reproductive morbidity is a health problem related to reproductive organs and functions of the whole reproductive system which may or may not necessarily, be a consequence of reproduction. It is a major health problem that seriously affects women’s life. It can be categorized into three major sub-groups such as gynaecological, obstetric, and contraceptive morbidity.

The present study mainly focussed on the prevalence of self-reported gynaecological and obstetric morbidity among the rural Kaibarta women of Assam. An attempt was also made to understand the treatment seeking behaviour regarding reproductive health problems as per their educational status.

Core Variables & Framework (For Your Reference)

  • Categorization used in the study: 1. Gynaecological Morbidity (Infections, structural issues, menstrual disorders).2. Obstetric Morbidity (Pregnancy, labor, and post-partum complications).3. Contraceptive Morbidity (Complications arising from family planning methods).
  • Key Analytical Focus: Cross-examining how a woman’s literacy level and educational attainment directly dictate her treatment-seeking behavior or decision to utilize formal/informal healthcare systems.
